Nina was tagged as the Asia's Soul Siren and was the first and only OPM female artist to grab the Diamond Album Award. Influenced by Mariah Carey's musical style, Nina possesses a very powerful voice that she has the prowess to sing in a whistle register. This was perhaps because of the massive training that her father gave her.
In her early years, Nina joined the talent search Tanghalan ng Kampeon where she remained champion for almost a couple of months. Ricky Ilacad, the managing director of Warner Music Philippines, was very impressed with Nina's vocal ability, and took her to sign a recording contract.
Nina released 7 highly-appreciated albums. Her album Nina Live is the biggest selling album by a female OPM Artist. She also joined bands like MYMP and The Big Thing. Nina also did collaborations with foreign artists and songwriters and sold-out concerts in different parts of the world.
Currently, Nina is now part of the group Sessionistas along with Duncan Ramos, Aiza Seguerra, MYMP, Sitti, and Richard Poon, doing the most requested jamming segment of a Sunday musical variety show.
